2012 GEN U Mad Dash will be roaring this summer

Did you know the hottest ticket in town will be Saturday, July 14 as the 2012 GEN U Mad Dash takes off on the streets of the Peoria area?

Once again, the Heart of Illinois United Way's GENeration United members will be looking for teams of two to four people to race against the clock to not only compete in creative and exciting challenges, but to learn about the great work of the United Way and its central Illinois partner agencies.

Registration will open this spring and we'll have several fun events to engage your interest and competitive talents before, during and after the Dash!

In the meantime, view the video to the right to see highlights of last year's event. We'd also like to thank last year's sponsors showcased in the banner above. On Saturday July 16, 2011, approximately 130 individuals participated in the 2^nd annual GENeration United MAD Dash in Peoria, IL. More than $20,000 was raised by the event through corporate sponsorship dollars and team entry fees. All the dollars raised will be invested back into the Peoria-area community through the efforts of the United Way. The MAD Dash is a competitive adventure and rewarding community project rolled into one. Teams of 2-4 participants travel around the Peoria community completing individual challenges at United Way partner agencies and area businesses. The event is much like an ‘Urban Challenge’ or an ‘Amazing Race,’ however MAD Dash participants have the benefit of using brand new CHEVY cars through the Our Town, Our Heroes initiative. This year, the initiative provided 19 brand-new vehicles for participants, and truly provided the event uniqueness like none other.

Thank you to all our sponsors and participating teams! The event was a huge success, and we are looking forward to making the event even bigger and better next year!

If your team is not sponsored by a participating 2011 corporate sponsor, then your team may receive free registration that night also after competing in several small activities! The planning is underway for another city-wide, competitive adventure that calls upon the hands and hearts of participants to take on exciting challenges while experiencing the work of The Heart of Illinois United Way first-hand.
